My three siblings and I all celebrate our birthdays within two weeks of one another… We’ve affectionately dubbed this time of the year “Birthday Season.” It’s a continuous parade of dinners out, beribboned presents, and frosted birthday cakes.

Full disclosure: Reggie and I are trying to “be healthy” — in other words, avoid excessive consumption of processed and sugary foods; eat home-cooked, low-carb meals throughout the week; and refrain from eating out excessively.
Suffice to say, we’re doing horribly.
I’m in love.
With sharp edges, clean lines, and glistening surfaces, reflecting the hustle and bustle and their towering, twinkling architectural brethren protruding into the sky.
The sun dips just past the horizon and paints the sky a fiery gold. The wind’s crisp tonight, but it’s been a lot colder over the past few nights. My thin white T-shirt doesn’t do much to protect me from the chill, but I can handle it.
If I’m honest with myself, the sharp breeze feels oddly refreshing. A little painful, but refreshing.
This isn’t groundbreaking stuff. It’s subpar, at best; however, I’m glad that I did it because (1) I’ve been wanting to in the first place and (2) one of the biggest parts of this 365(6) project is to challenge myself. So that’s what I’ve done.

Looking back, I was kind of a weirdo about music. I was extremely obsessive with my craft. Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. That obsession gave me an overwhelming sense of happiness and fulfillment.
